PADI Advanced Open Water Certification

If you've completed your Open Water or Adventure Diver rating and are looking for a fun way to further expand your knowledge and skills, the Advanced Open Water (AOW) Diver program is ideal for you!  The AOW rating is all DIVING! There are essentially no classroom sessions -- just a bit of independent reading in the Adventure Diver manual!  Our resident IDC Staff Instructor and Master Scuba Diver Trainer with over 400 dives, leads these classes.  

Open water dives for our AOW courses are done here in the Denver area (Aurora and Chatfield reservoirs) during warmer months, and at the Blue Hole in Santa Rosa, NM during the cooler months (mid-Oct through mid-May).  You can also complete your AOW open water dives during any of our special dive trips to SeaBase in Utah or to off-shore locations in the Caribbean, South Pacific, etc.

The AOW rating involves 5 specialty dives, including required Deep and Navigation dives. You and your instructor will agree on the other 3 specialty areas that will expose you to a wider range of diving skills and environments. Location and conditions will dictate which specialty areas can be sampled.  Your 5 AOW Dives are usually selected from the following specialty areas:

The AOW rating can be completed in one weekend.  Did we say one weekend?  Yes -- and we'll be running this course at least once each month.  Call us for dates & times and then get ready for an Advanced SCUBA Adventure!

AOW Course fees are as follows:

  Advanced Open Water Course Fee (only):  $220

Add $80 for Blue Hole and $100 for The Crater Trips
