Professional Ratings

If your interests lie in working as a land based Instructor or Divemaster, or as a Instructor on a luxury class liveaboard vessel diving world famous sites, gaining your professional rating is the first step.  Or if you're simply interested in making your hobby a part-time profession and earning income while you enjoy diving and sharing your passion for the sport with others, a professional rating may be your next big step. 

If you want to learn more about the professional ratings so you can become more involved in underwater photography, marine biology or conservation, underwater videography, marine journalism, or new technologies such as rebreather diving, technical diving, scientific and research diving, there's no better starting point than Divemaster, which leads to Assistant Instructor and Open Water Scuba Instructor!

         Divemaster -- first professional rating (lead trips, assist instructors)

                          Special Course Fee of $595

         Assistant Instructor -- teach portions of OW classes, certain specialties

         Open Water SCUBA Instructor -- teach all SCUBA courses

                           Special Course Fee $1195

All students enrolled in a course with Abyss-Scuba receive a 10% discount on purchases of equipment during their term as a student.
