Multi Level Diver
This course teaches you the necessary skills, knowledge, and techniques to
safely plan and perform multi-level dives.
The Multilevel Diver course requires one evening in the classroom followed
by two open water dives, both of which may be conducted in one day. You'll
also be exposed to a variety of different types of multilevel dive calculators
(the Wheel and various types of dive computers). Topics covered include:
- The planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards
of multilevel diving
- Definition and advantages of multilevel diving
- Methods of calculating multilevel dives. (The Wheel and/or dive computers)
- Review of decompression sickness theory
- Review of emergency decompression procedures
- Review of S.A.F.E. campaign
- Procedures for flying after diving
- Guidelines, rules & procedures for diving with the Wheel or dive computers
- Care and maintenance of dive computers
At your Instructor's discretion,
an elective Multilevel Dive performed as part of the Advanced Open
Water Diver or Adventure Diver program may count toward the certification
requirements for this specialty.
Prerequisites: To become a Multi-level
Diver you must be at least 12 years old, and hold a Open Water or
Junior Open Water Diver certification or equivalent.
